Description
Le Martegaou: A flat-bottomed boat from Provence. Vessels of this type were commonly used along the Rhone River for transporting building timber, tiles from Arles and fodder.
The runs were eventually extended to include the southern coasts of France. The boats disappeared, however, as railway transport became widespread.
