The Waveney Class Lifeboat is an impressive vessel designed for search and rescue operations in coastal waters. This class of lifeboat was first introduced by the Royal National Lifeboat Institution (RNLI) in 1964 and was in service until 2009, with a total of 39 boats built. The Waveney Class Lifeboat was specifically designed to be launched from a beach or a slipway, making it highly maneuverable and versatile in its operations. The boat measures 43 feet in length and is made of strong and durable fiberglass, making it able to withstand rough sea conditions.
10 boats of this type- 44-foot vessels- were sent to England from the US. After minor reconstruction work to make the boats more suitable for English conditions, the vessels have since served various locations along the English coast, operated under the auspices of the Royal Naval Lifeboat Institution.

The Waveney Class Lifeboat is equipped with twin diesel engines, which give it a maximum speed of 17.5 knots. These engines are housed in a watertight compartment to ensure their safety and maximum efficiency. In addition to the engines, the lifeboat also has a powerful hydraulic winch system that can be used to tow vessels in distress or to pull them off shallow waters.
One of the most impressive features of the Waveney Class Lifeboat is its self-righting capability. The boat is designed to automatically right itself if it capsizes, ensuring the safety of the crew and passengers on board.
